Jeanie Parsons, People & Culture (Aboriginal Engagement) meets The Hon. Ken Wyatt, MP Minister for Indigenous Australians

Posted 28 February 2020

Jeanie Parsons, Aboriginal Engagement in our People & Culture team and Tammy Hickey VTEC Team Leader attended the Supply Nation Indigenous job fair held at Australian Parliament House, Canberra, on Tuesday 11 February 2020. The trade fair showcased the goods and services of Indigenous businesses from a wide range of industry sectors and presented an excellent opportunity to network and engage with Aboriginal businesses.
The trade fair was attended by representatives from a range of Commonwealth departments and agencies. Jeanie got the opportunity to meet The Hon. Ken Wyatt, MP Minister for Indigenous Australians, who is the first Indigenous Australian elected to the House of Representatives, the first to serve as a government minister, and the first appointed to cabinet.
Jeanie gave him a rap about Ability Options and what we do while Tammy informed him about the transition from VTEC from Ability Options to NSW Aboriginal Land Council.
Jeanie feels incredibly privileged to have met Minister Wyatt and said, “I am honoured to meet our first Aboriginal Minister for Indigenous affairs. It was such a good moment for me personally and professionally, representing Ability Options.”
