Michael has always have good work attitude and ethics which always shows in his past employments. However, his health always prevents him from reaching his full potential.
2 years ago, Michael was in a good job and was performing well but his health deteriorated and had to leave his job… worse, he had to undergo a lengthy process to get back on his feet and be ready to find his next employment opportunity.
Working with the Ability Options Baulkham Hills Staff, Michael was accepted by Uniting (NSW.ACT) as one of their Part Time NDIS Local Area Coordinator. Michael underwent intensive training and learning on NDIS, NDIA policies and procedures, customer service and several more topics before he was allowed to service NDIS client. Michael endured this period and absorbed all the knowledge and training he needed.
During this period Ability Options provide support more on ensuring that his health will not deteriorate during the intensive training period. Michael and his support officer will usually have conversations outside of the work place to allow Michael the distress and allow his support worker to provide advice and guidance to Michael on how to keep his health well maintained. Job Support also keeps on reminding Michael to take his medication regularly and to still keep his specialist appointments.
Currently, Michael has surpassed 6 months of employment and is handling his caseload independently. Michael has earned the respect and admiration of his peers. Michael is now being considered to become a Full Time employee by his Team Leader and Area Manager.
