Simon joined the Ability Options Transition To Work program (now called WorkReady) in 2015 and graduated in December 2016.
During Simon’s, his time with the program, he undertook numerous work experience placements with Blockbuster, Ecogarden, Java Lava and Grill’d.
Simon particularly enjoyed participating in the WorkReady programs specifically designed to support him in finding and keeping a job such as work experience.
Simon’s WorkReady consultant supported him to create a resume and portfolio of his past experience and used this to obtain him a work experience placement with Grill’d. Simon enjoyed his experience at Grill’d so much that he took the initiative to ask Grill’d if he could continue to undertake work experience after he graduated from the WorkReady program and Grill’d agreed.
He volunteered for another six weeks with Grill’d before being offered employment! Simon now even assists other Ability Options WorkReady participants learn hospitality related tasks when they come in for work experience.
Congratulations Simon, keep up the great work!
