It wasn’t too long ago that Jarrod was living at home with his Mum and Dad. He felt ready to spread his wings and gain some independence, so Jarrod moved into his own two bedroom flat.
Life has never looked so good; Jarrod drives his car to work, is learning to cook his own meals and heads off to the footy when the Knights are playing at home.
Jarrod then decided he wanted to start hitting the gym. In consultation with his Ability Options support worker, together they planned what he’d need to enable him to attend the gym. Ability Options matched him with Brendan who now facilitates his gym visits.
Jarrod really likes the flexibility around his support under the NDIS. He visits his mum and dad on weekends and with his new found independence, he feels more confident to make his own choices about what he does. Jarrod likes having his own space with no one to tell him what to do – but knows there are people to help him with things as well.
