Job Support Consultant, Joy met with Ellen before she started to ensure that Ellen’s job support requirements were tailored to her needs. On Ellen’s first day in her new job, Joy was there, right beside her, to provide assistance to Ellen and her new employer and colleagues. Joy provided Ellen with intensive on-the-job support and training during her initial shifts. Ellen is a fast leaner and was able to learn all her tasks quickly. So the need for on-the-job support decreased to every fortnight. Aside from her general tasks, Ellen also posts regularly on their company’s blogspot as well.
During her six months of employment, Ellen shined like a star in her company. She was given more tasks which she learned quickly. She was also asked to present during Down Syndrome NSW Education Conference in March.
