Specialist Counselling Services for Work
Our specialist counselling supports are for anyone who is linked with our employment service programs. Our Specialist Counsellors have a deep understanding of the impact that mental ill-health, disability and disadvantage have on people’s lives and recognise the importance that work, and education play in achieving a sense of inclusion and positive self-esteem.
Our Specialist Counsellors are person-centred professionals who work from a strengths-based approach, and can assist with:
- General counselling
- Vocational counselling
- Depression and anxiety management
- Adjustment to disability counselling
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Psychosocial assessment
- Self-esteem, motivation and confidence building
- Connection to other services
- Goal setting

Our Specialist Counselling Services for Work currently offered in Greater Sydney, Hunter and Central Coast.
Our specialist counselling services are for participants linked with our employment service programs and can be accessed through Disability Employment Services (DES), Workforce Australia & ParentsNext.
To access our Specialist Counselling Services for Work, simply speak to an Ability Options staff member and ask for a referral. Appointments are offered on a weekly or fortnightly basis and can continue for up to 6 months after you secure a job.
