Ability Options WorkReady participant Rishi has completed his first-ever work experience in the bakery section at Woolworths, Parramatta. Work experience in the food sector gives participants the opportunity to see the inner workings of a busy industry.
In particular, how baked goods such as croissants, cinnamon rolls, and choc chip cookies, end up packaged, with a label, and put out on the shop floor. This experience further equips people with the skills to engage with a range of co-workers in an appropriate manner and improves their social future in the workplace.
Rishi had many responsibilities whilst working in the bakery section. He was required to accurately place a range of baked goods onto trays, package them up, and label them. He was also responsible for maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
