When Tim first joined the USEP program in May, he had recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Midwifery. Tim, who has had a lack of self esteem, had doubts on whether he would succeed in achieving his goals of becoming a nurse.
With the support of his USEP Specialist Employment Consultant, Dragana, Tim worked on building his confidence, developing his communication skills, identifying his strengths, and planning and setting goals. Tim also received lots of encouragement in achieving his chosen career path, which motivated him to further develop his skills and knowledge in nursing. The support Tim received from both Dragana and the USEP program eventually led him to accept a position as a Registered Nurse at NSW Health’s Sydney Local Health District.
Tim is now a passionate Registered Nurse, who is administering both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines to hundreds of Sydney residents at the Sydney Olympic Park Vaccination Hub. Tim has also been encouraged to undertake a 120 hour Immunisation Course, which goes towards his professional development as a health professional. Tim is grateful to the USEP program for the support they provided him, saying that the program ‘has made me more confident and self-determined to succeed in all my career goals.’
